Ceramic Tiles Information

1. Change of Color and Pattern (Class V)
This classification assesses whether the product's design is homogeneous or variable. Level V1 indicates products with minimal differences in pattern and color tone between production batches. Level V2 features similar shades and textures but with clearly distinguishable variations. Levels V3 and V4 show significant variability in color and pattern between pieces, with V4 offering the highest level of diversity, where each piece is uniquely colored and patterned, creating a rich visual variety upon installation.
2. Resistance to Surface Abrasion - PEI Class
The PEI rating measures the durability of glazed ceramic tiles against surface abrasion, providing crucial information about their suitability for various environments. PEI 0 indicates that tiles are not suitable for any flooring use. PEI 1 is ideal for areas with light traffic and no exposure to outdoor dirt, such as private bathrooms or bedrooms. PEI 2 and higher are suitable for more frequently used areas; PEI 5 represents the highest level of durability, perfect for public and commercial spaces with heavy traffic and dirt exposure.

3. R Value and Slip Resistance
The R value is an important factor to consider when selecting tiles, especially for areas prone to getting wet, like bathrooms and outdoor spaces. The R value measures the slip resistance of tiles, helping to prevent accidents due to slipping. R9 indicates a low level of slip resistance, suitable for dry areas. R10 and R11 provide moderate slip resistance, ideal for kitchens and hallways. R12 and R13 offer high slip resistance, making them perfect for wet areas such as shower floors, swimming pool surrounds, and outdoor paths.
4. Resistance to Heat, Water, and Frost
Our ceramic products are known for their excellent resistance to heat, water, and frost. Their heat-resistant properties ensure that they maintain shape and appearance even under high temperatures, making them ideal for kitchens, barbecue areas, and fireplaces. Water resistance guarantees long-lasting use in moist environments like bathrooms and kitchens, while frost resistance makes them perfect for outdoor use in cold climates. Additionally, these tiles offer high resistance to UV rays and various chemicals, making them safe for prolonged outdoor use.

5. Body Characteristics Based Product Selection Recommendations
5.1 Wall Tiles
Wall tiles with a 10-20% water absorption rate are suitable for interior walls, given their lightweight and aesthetic appeal. These tiles can be maintained in their original quality when appropriate adhesives are applied. They are not recommended for floor or outdoor use, as they are prone to breakage due to their low load-bearing capacity and sensitivity to temperature variations.
5.2 Floor Tiles and Glazed Porcelain Tiles
Floor tiles with a maximum water absorption of 3.0% are ideal for interior floors and walls, offering durability and moisture resistance.
Glazed porcelain tiles with a water absorption rate of up to 0.5% and high bending strength are versatile for use on floors, walls, and exterior cladding both indoors and outdoors. Some porcelain tiles are manufactured with water absorption rates even lower than 0.1%, enhancing their durability and suitability for a variety of environments.

6. Thickness Based Selection Recommendations
6.1 6.5mm - 7mm Porcelain Tiles
Due to their light weight along with all the characteristics of porcelain tiles, these tiles are preferred for interior and exterior wall cladding, floor coverings, and pool interiors. They can also be used in both interior and exterior floor applications with suitable conditions and especially low-cleaning base applications.
6.2 8mm - 9mm Porcelain Tiles
Porcelain tiles with thicknesses ranging from 8mm to 9mm are suitable for various applications where ceramic tiles are commonly used, including interiors, exteriors, floors, and walls. These tiles are chosen for their low water absorption, resistance to freeze-thaw cycles, and superior strength, making them ideal for exterior cladding, pool interiors, garden terraces, and other demanding environments.
6.3 20mm - 30mm Porcelain Tiles
Traditionally, these tiles are applied to the surface to be adhered, bearing heavy loads. They are also preferred for direct application on grass, gravel, and sand without being fixed in place, especially in gardens and pedestrian pathways. This group of products is produced in the R10 slip resistance class and is therefore safely used in areas such as gardens, pool edges, and wet walking paths.

7. Surface Characteristics Based Product Selection Recommendations
7.1 Full Lappato and Shiny Glazed Products
These surfaces, applicable for both wall and floor interior areas, add extra shine, brightness, and depth to the environment. Shiny surfaces can become slippery when wet, so if used in areas with potential for wetness, non-slip mats should be used in conjunction. They should not be used in high-traffic outdoor areas where dirt, dust, sand, and gravel can scratch the surface. The surfaces should be kept clean during application and covered if necessary. Grout and mortar residues should be cleaned before drying, and walking on the surface with sandy materials should be avoided.
7.2 Lappato - Semi-Polished Surface
Lappato, or semi-polished surfaces, feature a special texture that enhances the shine of an environment depending on the lighting. These surfaces are scratch-resistant due to a special coating material used in their production. While they have a very low risk of slipping when dry, they can become slippery when wet. To ensure the best surface quality and prevent slip hazards, regular and frequent cleaning is necessary to remove any liquid contaminants. The surfaces are also stain-resistant and can be maintained with suitable cleaning materials as recommended in this manual. For any concerns, consulting with our technical service is advised.

7.3 Mat - Granulated Mat - Protective Glazed and Other Special Surface Products
This group includes products that are not processed after production. It contains various textures. With their mat appearance, softness, hardness, and slip resistance properties, they are used in various interior and exterior locations comfortably. They are also easy to clean with various cleaning apparatuses when used in wet areas. These products are safely used in wet areas such as pool edges, bathrooms, and wet walking areas, but it is recommended to use apparatuses that will ensure the surfaces remain dry and non-slip when wet.
